Tuesday August 31

1st Block & 3rd Block -- Reviewed chapter 1.1 information for test on Thursday. Went over 2 articles from AdAge.com one about targeting young males for Internet service and the other was about product repositioning and market share (no new words added the vocabulary list today). Went over Chapter 1.2 PowerPoint. Completed and turned in graphic organizer for a grade. Went over chapter 1.2 review questions from page 9 in textbook in class. (Last 20 minutes of 1st Block -- Read "Name That Function" and answered Objective A questions)

Monday

1st & 3rd Block -- Time/Hours Sheet due today. Gave back Functions Graphic. Finished going over Chapter 1.1 from PowerPoint. Completed Marketing Concept graphic and turned in for a grade. Went over 2 articles from AdAge.com and started a vocabulary list which we defined from the articles. 1) Product positioning 2) Product placement 3) Market Share Vocabulary list will be turned in on Friday.

Friday, August 27

1st Block and 3rd Block -- Went over requirements and grading for the Marketing Work Journal. Students in 4th Block work experience wrote their first journal and turned it in. Began going over Chapter 1.1 in Marketing Essentials. Covered multiple definations of marketing, types of products: goods, services and ideas, and needs vs. wants. Read pages 6 & 7 on the functions of marketing and worked on completing a graphic organizer on the functions. Talked about PictureStory3 and MovieMaker briefly.

Day #3

1st Block and 3rd Block -- Looked at the AdAge website. Writing Assignment: Write at least 5 things you want me to know about you. Went over figuring hours and wages from the whiteboard. Gave out the Marketing Work time/hours sheet that will be due Monday August 30. Each student in work experience will have an individual work folder in the red crate. Gave out lockers and textbooks.

Day #2 of Class

1st Block -- Gave out and went over Marketing Principles I syllabus and signed syllabus acknowledgement sheet. Gave out and went over School Handbook. All signature sheets from back of handbook are due tomorrow. Seating chart tomorrow.

3rd Block -- Gave out and went over School Handbook. All signature sheets from back of handbook are due tomorrow. Seating chart tomorrow.

First Day of School

1st Block -- Completed blue information sheet. Gave out emergency card -- due back tomorrow.

4th Block -- Went over training agreement. You must report to 4th block every day until a completed training agreement signed by employer, parent, and student is received. Went over the Marketing Work Experience Syllabus. Signed syllabus acknowledgement sheet.
